It is a way too familiar story in MMA. The promoters of the MMA Gladiator Challenge in Spain were on the run with the event’s money; hence it has been canceled. Fighters were notified about three hours before the event was set to start.
Update – the promoters have been found. One is in jail; the other is in the hospital recovering from injuries sustained when a fighter caught up to him.
It was to feature the long awaited bought between two of Europe’s top featherweights – #6 Unified ranked Yana Kunitskaya and Danielle West.
This has been a disappointment moreover because this has been the third time the two has tried to set up this fight. Kunitskaya is on a six fight win streak, but would be stepping up in competition against West. West drew with Rin Nakai before losing to Milena Dudieva this past April.
Efforts are being made to get the fight on another card.
