India’s biggest MMA promotion is about to do something WMMA fans have been asking for – creating a female version of “The Ultimate Fighter”.
Super Fight League Challengers will start filming Aug. 5 as 8 men and 8 women will be vying to become the Challengers champion and win about $36,000. Also they will be signed to a three year contract to the SFL.
Unlike TUFF, the viewing audience will decide which fighters will face each other each week. Bollywood celebrities will also take part of the show.
Update: You can read about the eight women on Superfightleague.com/challengers
The filming is set for eight weeks, and will air on Neo Sports and Zoom TV India on Friday nights. Filming will end around the time of SFL 4, which happens on Sept. 8.
No word on if they will be posting episodes online for international viewers. Wombat Sports will have more information as it becomes available.
