Wombat Sports: How has it been the past year?

Emma Watson: Unfortunately due to injury I haven’t been able to fight much this past year. I recently took a fight with a weeks notice due to my team mate Chloe getting injured.

Wombat: Are you finding more opportunities as European fighter?

Watson: Even though women’s MMA is becoming more popular it is still hard to be matched with fights in the UK, hense having to fight twice at a higher weight catergory.

W.S.: Being one of the current generation of female fighters, how would you describe the current female MMA scene in Europe?

E.W.: At the moment I believe that womens MMA is slowly beginning to increase all over the world. With a lot of media about fighters such as Rousey it is giving us fighter a greater opportunity to also try and get our names out there in the MMA scene.

W.S.: What does it mean to be a part of “Women Fight Back?”

E.W.: Being a part of the Women Fight Back show is great has it for a great cause. Fighting on an all female show in the UK with other great fighters from the UK is also going to be an highlight of the event for me personally.

W.S.: What do you know about your opponent?

E.W.: I dont really know much of my opponent I have only seen a couple of videos of her. Me and my coach have been working on a game plan so im just going to stick to that

W.S.: Is there anyone you’d like to thank?

E.W.: I would like to thank my coach John Higo for all the effort he as put into my training. I would also like to thank Faisal for the time he has also put in with me. Finally i would like to thank all the lads down at Leeds Cage and lastly my team mate Chloe Hinchcliffe for all the training weve done together these last few weeks.
