Wrestler Dan Gable once quoted ”Some have wrestled without great skill – none have wrestled without pride.” Same can be said of the female MMA fighters of “The Super Fight League Challengers” reality show.
As India is still in it’s infancy in terms of MMA, eight women have the guts to be called the first group that will lead the women’s divisions in their country. The format is very similar to The Ultimate Fighter; with fights happening every other week at the SFL gym. Unlike TUF, Bollywood stars and the fighters families are allowed to watch the the action live in person. All the women are fighting at 55.5 kg (126 lbs.)
A lot of what is going on with the show mirrors the early women’s battles; with size mismatches and style clashes. With the season half over, four fighters have qualified for the semi-finals.
