Ediene Gomes Added to InvictaFC 4, Hiroko Yamanaka Possible Opponent

Ediene Gomes, who has brand new contract with InvictaFC, is looking for a possible featherweight title shot. In her way is Hiroko Yamanaka.

MMAJunkie.com posted a story with Gomes, who confirms that she will be a part of InvictaFC 4 and states she is very likely to face Yamanaka. Gomes (9-2) has only lost to Strikeforce champ Ronda Rousey and Amanda Nunes in her career, and is riding a three fight win streak. Her transtion from Brazil to American Top Team in Coconut Creek, FL has been beneficial to her sudden rise in the ranks. She is currently at #8 in the Unified rankings, while ahead of her at #7 is Yamanaka. A win  would make a huge argument for a title match against Marloes Coenen for the first ever InvictaFC featherweight title.

Yamanka (12-2) is trying to rebound from a loss against Germaine de Randamie this past August. Before that, she was on an eight fight win streak.

InvictaFC 4′s main event will crown the promotion’s first ever strawweight champ, as Carla Esparza will take on  Ayaka Hamasaki. A date is yet to be announced, but Gomes commented that January 4 is most likely.
