Bec Hyatt was never expected to win at InvictFC 4. No one would have ever suspected that she would take Carla Esparza the distance.

The WMMA Fan Favorite Fighter of the Year may have gained more fans as she went toe to toe with Esparza and was able to stale mate the champ for five rounds. The judges may have given the belt to Esparza, but Hyatt got a moral victory in taking the new champ to the limit.

We talked to Hyatt post fight about her experience and going longer than anyone could have possibly imagined.

  1. Kudos to Bec, she took the fight with short notice and she had a training camp adapted to fight a thaiboxer in JoJo Calderson Silva …

She has fighting skills, a lot to improve in some areas and she could be easely the face of Invicta … sure she will have more title shot opportunities if she put winning streaks

  2. Bec Hyatt has the heart and soul of a real warrior. Her refusal to give up within herself is what it’s about right there. In my estimation, I believe she will grow to become THE force in WMMA. She is an excellent all rounder, and she knows exactly where she needs to improve. If Bec says she’s going back for that belt, neither Hell nor high water will stop her. She’s an inspiration and wonderful role model for young girls and women everywhere……………
