April 2013 Unified Rankings – Several Featherweights Added

#8 ranked Peggy Morgan

As we head towards InvictaFC 5 this Friday, two weight classes saw shifts in the rankings this month.

Due to inactivity, Milena Dudieva, Elaina Maxwell and Ashley Sanchez have dropped out the 145 rankings making three debuts in to the top ten. They include CFA tournament semi-finalist Peggy Morgan (2-0; ranked #8); Virginia’s Gabrielle Holloway (2-0; ranked #9); and Swedish fighter Pannie Kianzad (3-0; now ranked #10.

Moving up in the featherweight ranks include Julia Budd (from #4 to #3); Germaine de Randamie (from #6 to #4); Hiroko Yamanaka (from #7 to #5) and Fiona Muxlow (from #8 to #6). With Budd and Muxlow fighting at InvictaFC 5 this Friday, expect some shifting in May.

The 125ers also saw some changes this month. UFC signee Sheila Gaff has dropped off the flyweight list due to inactivity in the division. The new #2 is Rosi Sexton, who moves up a spot, as does the rest of the ranked fighters from last month. Making her debut at #10 is Russia’s Julia Berezikova (7-3)

The other divisions stay pat, but look for changes next month with many ranked fighters competing at InvictaFC 5, plus #4 Bantamweight ranked Miesha Tate taking on #9 Cat Zingano at the Ultimate Fighter Finale, and #6 Sara McMann’s UFC debut.
