Jessica Aguilar Signs to WSOF

jag 04The World Series of Fighting has made it’s first signing for it’s new women’s divisions, and it’s a solid choice.

The #1 strawweight in the world Jessica Aguilar has signed to the promotion according to a press release Monday. Aguilar (16-4) became a free agent earlier this year after Bellator decided to dismantle it’s women’s divisions. Her last bout saw her defeat Megumi Fujii in the Japanese’s stars final match.

WSOF stated they weren’t going to establish champions or sign a full roster of fighters right away; just to simply “put on intriguing fights” in the divisions. WSOF initially signed current InvictaFC champ Michelle Waterson to a contract when the promotion started, but Waterson was able to sign to Invicta.

Aguilar is expected to debut with the promotion in January at a yet determined location. No opponent has been announced as of yet. The fight will air on NBC Sports Net.
