In pro MMA action on Wednesday, Elizabeth Phillips submitted Kristin Stenzel by rear naked choke at 0:49 round 1 at Conquest of the Cage in Spokane, WA.


Early result in pro MMA on Saturday saw Linn Wennergren knockout Angelica Babbi in round 1 at Superior Challenge 9 in Gothenburg, Sweden.


In ammy MMA action Friday, at RFA 11 in Bloomfield, CO, Heather Sachleben defeated Rebecca Wells by unanimous decision


Boxing action Friday saw:

  • Mary McGee defeat Lakeysha Williams by unanimous decision in Merrillville, Indiana
  • In Lincoln, Rhode Island, Jaime Clampitt defeated Dominga Olivo by unanimous decsion



Kelly Kobold has dropped out of her match with Tonya Evinger at InivtcaFC 7 due to injury. The promotion announced a replacement Friday as Sarah D’Alelio will step in to take on Evinger in a bantamweight contest.

D’Alelio (7-4) has fought in all but one of Invicta’s card, and has had victories over Amanda Nunes and Vanessa Porto. She is coming off a decision loss to Invicta  135 title contender Lauren Murphy.

Evinger (11-6) has won her past three fights before losing a “Ultimate Fighter” qualifier to Raquel Pennington by guillotine choke.


“The Ultimate Fighter” is winding down with the final taped episode slated for Wednesday on Fox Sports 1. The second semi-final is set as Jessica Rakcozy takes on Raquel Pennington.

Some notes on this previous episode that no one may have known:

  • Ronda Rousey was cutting weight along side Anthony Gutierrez and Rousey did make it to 135 while Gutierrez didn’t. They started the cut about at the same weight.
  • None of the females have yet to miss weight on the show. Team Tate did have a dietitian on their team, while Team Rousey didn’t.
  • We will most likely not get any clue on who will be fighting on TUF finale prelims until after Wednesday’s episode.

Recent InvictaFC signee River Rukas Jones has retired due to a hip injury according to an article on SportsGeeks. Jones was undefeated in seven amateur bouts and was one of the top prospects in the bantamweight division. We wish her the best in her retirement.

InvictaFC 7 will be live from the Ameristar Casino in Kansas City, MO December 7th and will be live on pay-per-view ($25 HD) and live stream ($12) on


A new face will be appearing in the cage at InvictaFC 7 as Swayze Valentine will be handling the cutwoman duties for the fighters. Valentine has paved the way for more females to be a part of the support structure in MMA.


Roxanne Modafferi vs Aisling Daly Targeted For BlackEye 5

Two more female matches have been added to Cage Warrior’s New Years Eve event in Dublin, Ireland.

Ais “The Bash” Daly will return to the Cage Warriors’ cage to take on Karla Benitez. Local product Daly (13-5) is looking to snap a three fight losing streak and will make her strawweight debut. Spain’s Benitez (11-5-1) is coming off a win this past weekend and won three of her last four fights.

Also, Ireland’s Amanda English will make her pro debut against Italy’s Slavka Vitaly (2-0).

The two matches join Catherine Costigan versus Elodie Puget on the card.

The event will stream for free on New Years Eve day.

The DEEP-JEWELS strawweight tournament finals have a date. Finalists Mizunki Inoue and Emi Tomimatsu will square off for the 115 title February 16 in Tokyo, Japan.


venter simmons posterSouth African MMA fighter Santa-Marié Venter will make her U.S. debut January 18th at the Shooting Stra Casino in  in Mahnomen, Minnesota against Maddy Simmons in an amateur strawweight bout.

A high anticipated fight this weekend features Invicta vet Lacey Schuckman facing Amber Stautzenberger  at XKO in Arlington, TX. Schuckman (9-6) has rebounded since her loss to current InvictaFC champ Michelle Waterson with last year with back to back wins. Stautzenberger (3-1) hasn’t lost since her debut match with Paige Van Zant.

In another bout on the card, Sabrina Garcia takes on Alice Yauger.

Sorry to say the match won’t be streamed.


Brazil will be busy with five fights on two cards in Sao Paulo.

Two amateur prospects in the flyweight division will square off at V3 Fights in Memphis, Tenn which will stream on for $15 Saturday. Jamie Milanowski (3-0) and Amberlynn Orr (31) will battle for the promotion’s 125 title.

Claudia Andrea Lopez will defend her IBF super featherweight title against Betiana Patricia Vinas Saturday in Rio Negro, Argentina. Lopez (23-7) regained her super featherweight title this past August with a foirth round TKO over Diana Ayala. Vinas (9-4-3) is riding a three fight win streak and is the current WBC Silver featherweight champion.
