To feed to demand for promote up and coming amateur fighters on the rise, we at Wombat Sports have created the “Amateur Hot List”; fighters who have solid records and are “buzzworthy”.
The fighter must have fought in the last three months and won at least twice in a row to be mentioned.
Here is the scale:
- Atomic: On the verge of being pro
- Blazing: Undefeated or only one loss and on a roll
- On Fire:: Several wins and a social buzz
- Hot: Just won a fight and is being talked about
Atomic

Katlyn Chookagian (7-0) – One of the best unsigned talent at flyweight, she had four armbar wins to her credit.
Aspen Ladd (7-0) – Also one of the best flyweight around, Ladd is set to face Cynthia Calvillo in April.
Evva Johnson (7-1) – The flyweight has submitted her past 4 opponents.
Katy Collins (7-3) – The ShoFights flyweight champion has finished her past 5 opponents.
Sarah McLeod (7-5) – After a two year layoff, she made a successful flyweight debut in March and is on a three fight win streak.
Wendy Julian (6-0) – Current King of the Cage Strawweight champion and has finished in all of her fights.
Marissa Smith (6-0) – Having returned after a two year absence, she has finished all her opponents in the first round. The bantamweight will face Gina Begley in May.
Marina Shafir (5-0) The featherweight has submitted all of her opponents within the first round. She will be turning pro in April.
Blazing
Hannah Zeciri (4-0) – Having three of her wins in the first two months of 2014, the flyweight is set to make it five in a row against Becky Gullet in April.
Rach Wiley (4-1) – Has yet to taste defeat since her debut loss. Top lightweight talent in the amateur ranks.
Shannon Sinn Culpepper (5-1) – Since her first loss, the flyweight has won back to back fights.
Alyse Anderson (4-0) – The current TWC atomweight champion has finished in all but one of her fights. She is going to fight next month.
On Fire
Anne Malinoff (4-2) – After starting her career with back to back losses, she has finished in all but one of her wins at atomweight.
Laura Mejia (3-1) – After a year and a half layoff, Mejia won two straight at flyweight.
Nicole Ertzberger (3-1) – Ertzberger is coming off a two close decision wins at starwweight.
Allison Ainley (3-0) – The current Virago featherweight champ won the title with her first round TKO over Jessica Ehrnreiter.
Mercedes Chavez (3-0) Finished in her last two fights at batnamweight.
Hot
Pam Sorenson (2-0-1) – With two submissions to her credit, the featherweight is fighting April 5 against fellow undefeated fighter Jessy Miele.
Genesia Williams (2-0) – Has back to back second round finishes at featherweight.
Cheri Muraski (2-0) – Has back to back submission wins in under a minute.
Bobbie-Jean Lewis (2-0) – Two first round armbar wins to start her career.
Hope Halava (2-0) – Made a successful lightweight debut at Virago with a decision win over Kendra Wilson.
