It didn’t take long for Scott Coker to bring the ladies back to Bellator.

The promotion announced Thursday they have signed Strikeforce vets Marlose Coenen and Julia Budd to their new featherweight division.

Coenen was signed to Invicta, but asked for her release to take the deal with Bellator. Coenen only fought twice for the promotion since Strikeforce folded. She went 2-1 overall post Strikeforce, with her last loss being to Cyborg Justino.

Budd (6-2) lost to UFC champion Ronda Rousey in Strikeforce, but went undefeated 4-0 at Invicta. With Justino and Ediane Gomes decisions to drop to 135, Budd is the highest ranked 145er currently active in the division.

The news comes among rumors of Bellator trying to sign Gina Carano to the promotion.

This leaves Invicta will a very shallow 145 division, with many featherweights going up to the new 155 division.

No word if Budd and Coenen will face each other and when. We won’t be surprised if we get a few more signings in the near future. We also won’t be surprised if we see the two fight for GLORY kickboxing as Bellator has a relationship with the promotion, and both fighters come from kickboxing backgrounds. Coenen in particular is managed under the Golden Glory banner.
