For the 5 days we will previewing InvictaFC 8 which will emanate from Kansas City Municipal Auditorium September 6, and will stream on UFC Fight Pass.
Check out Wombat Sports as we will give you continuing coverage live on location.
The first ever InvictaFC match will feature two promotional debuters as Denver’s JJ Aldrich takes on Tampa’s Delaney Owen.
JJ Aldrich (7-3 amateur): Having fought amateur for four years, Aldrich will be making her pro debut on the card. She has a win over UFC signee Kalin Curran, and currently trains with InvictaFC fighter Cassie Robb and XFC fighter Stephanie Skinner.
Delaney Owen (2-0 pro): Having gone 7-2 as an amateur, Owen has been fighting on a regular basis since 2012. All of her finishes are by submission.
Both are looking to to make an impact in what will be the rebirth of the strawweight division in Invicta. They also have a lot of pressure being the “first look” for UFC fans for the InvictaFC product.
What to expect:
Both have proven to have strong ground games, with Aldrich the only one who gotten TKO wins. It is a very evenly matched fight going in, so won’t be surprised if the odds have it even.
