Women’s Boxing Results: Persoon Retains WBC title; Two Heavyweight Champs crowned

Delfine Persoon successfully defend her newly won WBC World lightweight title getting the 9th round TKO over Diana Prazak in West-Vlaanderen, Belgium Tuesday.

Persoon (31-1) racks up her 14th finish of her career, and improves her winning streak to 21. She is also the WIBF and WBF lightweight champion.


Martha Salazar has gained another World Heavyweight title. Salazar defeated Tanzee Daniel by unanimous decision in San Francisco, California this past weekend. Salazar (13-4) is the former WIBF heavyweight champion.

Also on the card, Marquita Lee defeated Laura Deanovic by unanimous decision


Another heavyweight champion was crowned in Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia.

Lisa Marie Vizaniari defeated Kathy Rivers by TKO round 10 to win the vacant WIBA World heavyweight title. Vizaniari  (8-0) is currently the WBF heavyweight champion.


In Lincoln, Rhode Island, WIBA super bantamweight champion Shelly Vincent gains a second title with her majority decsion win over Jackie Trivilino. Vincent is now the UBF World super bantamweight title, and remains undefeated.


Long time WBA World female flyweight champion Susi Kentikian got the unanimous decsion win over Naoko Fujioka by unanimous decision to retain her title in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. She extends her win streak to 5.


Anabel Ortiz defended her WBA World minimumweight title successfully for the third time with a split decsion win over Etsuko Tada in Queretaro, Mexico. Ortiz has won six straight.

Also on the card, Alondra Garcia and Eloisa Martinez fought to a draw to a draw.


In Vasteraas, Sweden, Mikaela Lauren defeated Aleksandra Magdziak Lopes by majority decision to win the vacant WBC World light middleweight title. Lauren is the current UBO light middleweight champion.

  • In a pair of bouts in Cockeysville, Maryland, Tori Nelson defeated Lucretia Meacham by unanimous decision and Melissa St Vil and Ashleigh Curry fought to a split draw 
  • In Opelousas, Louisiana, Vashon Living defeated Latashia Burton by split decision
  • Karen Elizabeth Carabajal defeated Gloria Yancaqueo by disqualification in round 3 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Yancaqueo hit Carabajal  with an illegal headbutt.
  • In Herstal, Liege, Belgium, Djemilla Gontaruk defeated Claudia Ferenci by unanimous decision
  • Angie Vargas defeated Darys Esther Pardo by unanimous decision in Galapa, Colombia
  • In Hérault, France, Cyrielle Hebert and Megan Ouvrard fought to a draw
  • Alicia Ashley defeated Grecia Nova by TKO in round 7 in Petionville, Haiti
  • In Monterrey, Mexico, Joselyn Arroyo Ruiz defeated Mayela Perez by unanimous decision
