WMMA Prospect Watch – February 19

Weekly we will be featuring three female fighters who have made waves and yet haven’t been signed to a major promotion (UFC, Invicta, Cage Warriors, and Bellator).


Name: Amanda Lino

Weight class: Bantamweight

Record: 6-0 amateur

The first non-American to win “Amateur Fighter of the Year” at the WMMA Press Awards, Amanda Lino has become one to the top prospects at 135. She won the IMMAF featherweight tournament last summer in Las Vegas, representing her home country of South Africa.

All of her six wins were by KO or TKO and has yet to see a third round.

Name: Blair Patton

Weight Class: Bantamweight

Record: 4-0 amateur

With three straight finishes, Blair Patton is becoming one of the best amateur bantamweights in the midwest. She is the current Blackout MMA 135 champ.

Name: Marissa Smith

Weight Class: Bantamweight

Record: 4-0 amateur

A great fighter from Illinois’s War Room MMA, Marissa Smith has yet to see the second round before going to a decision with fellow prospect Gina Begley. Her first 3 wins were by strikes.
