Artemis Film Festival to Honor Shannon Knapp

knappThe first ever film festival dedicated to women’s action film making and entertainment will honor a pioneer in women’s sports.

The Artemis Film Festival announced this past week InvictaFC owner Shannon Knapp will be a part of those honored at their event which will happen April 25th weekend in Los Angeles.

Knapp help create InvictaFC, which as become the premier organization for female athletes. She started her career working with the female divisions in Strikeforce, King of the Cage, World Fighting Alliance, and the International Fight League. Her vision of the promotion been to “put the athletes first”, showcase talent across the planet, and to give a platform to these ladies. She has helped launch many careers including a majority of the UFC female roster.

Joining Knapp is “Terminator” star Linda Hamilton, “Firefly” actress Gina Torres, Kristanna Loken (“Terminator 3”; “Blood Rayne”) and stunt women Maja Aro and Angela Meryl. The Honoree ceremony will be Friday April 24th at the Laemmle Playhouse 7 theater.
