LaRosa; Batara Take Home Wins at Fusion Fight League

11230850_10205832161578489_5327680960212365112_nFusion Fight League’s Friday event highlighted what was a solid show of rising stars and future female fighting hopefuls.

The main event saw veteran fighter Tara LaRosa snap a three fight losing streak by facing a game Katie Howard in a three round stand up affair. Both were attacking the legs early on, with a close battle in round 1. LaRosa soon gained the momentum and had some moments of dominance to get the unanimous decision win.

In the women’s co-main event, Kyra Batara evens her record to 2-2 as she defeats Celine Haga in a what was a great technical submission match. Haga worked off her back for submissions in round 1, but Batara would control most of the second and all of the third round. Haga showed great defense, but Batara would get the nod from the judges.

Two amateur female bouts shined in the undercard.

17 year old Ireland Moran showed impressive striking and great patience in her win over Jade Buckskin. Moran’s kicking and work on the inside helped her overcome her opponent’s bigger reach.  She took hope a unanimous decision win and will be one to look out for in the coming years.

Her teammate Andrea Kate didn’t fair well against a dominate Cheri Muraski. Kate would hang on during a round two that saw Muraski taken a possible 10-8 round. The ref stopped the contest at 2:13 in round 3.

For those who missed out on the stream, Fusion Fight League will be posting the fights in the coming weeks on their youtube channel.
