Unified Rankings: Holm and Porto Take Number 1 Spots

holm winnerThere was some shake-ups in the bantamweight and flyweight divisions as we saw new number ones in both division.

With her win over Ronda Rousey, newly crowned UFC champ Holly Holm stands atop of the 135 rankings. Rousey drops to the second spot pushing last month’s numbers 2-8 down a spot.

With the announcement Invicta will be crowning an interim flyweight champion, Vanessa Porto claims the number 1 spot. Being inactive for a year and wanting more time off, Barb Honchak is off the list for the first time in the past four years. This moves last month’s number 2-6 up a spot.

With her loss, Reina Cordodba has dropped off the flyweight list. Poliana Botelho (now #6), Marilia Santos (now #7), and Kate Jackson (now #8)  jump two spots. Entering the top ten are Katlyn Chookagian (#9) and China’s Jingnan Xiong (#10).

At atomweight, Naho Sugiyama has re-entered the top 5 at #4 with her win at DEEP-JEWELS this past month.  This drops Amber Brown to the #5 spot. Two in the top 10 are out due to inactivity: Jodie Esquibel and Saori Ishioka. This puts Jihn Yu Frey at #6, Mina Kurobe at #7, and
Kanna Asakura at #8. Two newcomers enter the list as Julia Jones and
Emi Tomimatsu enter the list at #9 and #10 respectfully.

With her loss to Arlene Blencowe, Gabrielle Holloway drops from #7 to #10 at featherweight. This pushes Charmaine Tweet, Peggy Morgan, and Amanda Bell up a spot from last month to #7, #8, and #9 respectfully.

The strawweights stayed pat this month.
