WMMA Press Awards Newcomer 2015 Nominees

trophyA total of 285 fighters made their pro debuts this past year.  Twelve of these athletes have been nominated for “Newcomer of the Year”.

These dozen fighters have already made impacts across the female fighting world.  Many earned titles on the regional circuits and on global stages. Several have made their ways to Invicta and we could see any of them in the UFC soon.

Six journalists that cover the female divisions of MMA will vote on the award:

  • Irina Mazepa (2-0 in 2015)
  • Sabina Mazo (2-0 in 2015)
  • Shana Power (1-0 pro; 3-0 ammy)
  • Felicia Spencer (1-0 pro; 1-0 ammy in 2015; Tuff-n-uff tournament winner)
  • Kali Robbins (3-0 in 2015)
  • Pamela Ruiz (3-0 in 2015)
  • Micol di Segni (1-0 pro; 2-0 ammy in 2015; IMMAF World champion)
  • Shanna Young (3-0 in 2015)

    1. She only had 2 fights this year on her record and one was against a fighter who didn’t have a winning record. Had to cut off somewhere when we reached 12.
