For the first time since 2006, Cris “Cyborg” Justino will be fighting in her native Brazil.
The UFC announced Monday Cyborg will be making her official octagon debut against Leslie Smith at UFC 198 May 14 in Curitiba, Brazil. The fight will take place at a catchweight of 140 pounds.
Justino (15-1; 1NC) has been under the UFC contract for a while, awaiting a possible superfight with Ronda Rousey. She has five straight fights in Invicta, all with TKO or KO finishes.
Smith (8-6-1) is coming off a decision win over Rin Nakai just a few weeks ago. Her wars with Jessica Eye, Kaitlin Young, and Sarah Kaufman have seen her as a scrappy and exciting fighter.
The match will either be on the main pay-per-view card or will headlining the preliminaries on Fox Sports 1.
