One of the top stars of Muay Thai will look to dominate two sports at once.
It was announced this week Lion Fights champion Tiffany Van Soest has signed contracts with two UFC Fight Pass staples, InvictaFC and Glory Kickboxing.
“I am beyond thrilled to have this incredible opportunity to not only sign with one, but two of combat sports’ top organizations,” said Van Soest stated in a press release. “Striking has always been my passion and my official MMA debut has been greatly anticipated, so to be able to compete in both is a dream come true and I could not be happier.”
Van Soest (14-2-1 Muay Thai) was a two weight champion at Lion Fights before her contract expired a few months ago. She will have a new challenge with Glory’s kickboxing style, which deals less with clinching and more with distance striking.
Van Soest will start begin an ear of women on the main card of the Glory series. No female bouts ever happened on a Glory main card. Maureen Riordon faced Brenda Rodriguez on an undercard in 2014.
That will change May 13th as Van Soest will rematch Jeri Sitzes at Glory 30 in Los Angeles which will air live on UFC Fight Pass.
She will also have a whole other challenge going back to MMA. Van Soest had two MMA bouts, one an amateur win and the other a pro loss, but looks to improve her ground skills under the Leone brothers at Bali MMA in Indonesia.
Van Soest will drop to 115 to take part of Invicta, with a debut yet to be announced. The promotion is expecting this summer.
