Cyborg Justino’s next fight will be in the UFC.
After wanting to defend her InvictaFC title next, she turned down a possible fight with Germaine de Randamie. The UFC, who still holds Justino’s contract, has other ideas. MMA Junkie is reporting up and coming fighter Lina Lansberg (see above) of Sweden will face Cyborg at UFC Fight Night 95 in Brasilia, Brazil September 24th.
The UFC is yet to make the match official, with Lansberg awaiting details and sign the contract. Lansberg is 6-1 with four finishes. Her only pro loss was to InvictaFC star Pannie Kianzad in her first match of her career.
If made official, the match would be at a 140 cathweight and air on Fox Sports 1.
The UFC has been busy this week with their women’s divisions.
August 6th (this weekend) – King of the Cage champion Danielle Taylor will make her UFC debut replacing an injured Justine Kish facing Ukraine’s Maryna Moroz in Salt Lake City, Utah. Both have a 7-1 record, Taylor redeemed her first loss with a TKO over Jamie Colleen this past March. Moroz got her second UFC win over Cristina Stanciu this past April. This will also be the debut of InvictaFC reporter Laura Sanko as an interviewer for Fox Sports.
August 20 – Cortney Casey (5-3) will face Randa Markos (6-3) at UFC 202 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Casey is coming off a first round TKO win over Cristina Stanciu while Markos is coming off an unanimous decision win over Jocelyn Jones-Lybarger.
October 1 – Kelly Faszholz looks for her first UFC win by taking on Brazilian newcomer Ketlen Vieira at UFC Fight Night 96 in Portland, Oregon. Faszholz (3-1) lost an unanimous decision to Lauren Murphy in her UFC debut, and Vieira (6-0) has finished in all but one of her wins.
TUF 23 vet Helen Harper has announced she will face BCMMA strawweight champion Bryony Tyrell for the title on September 24th in Colchester, England. Harper (4-1) has finished in all but one of her wins. Harper lost to fellow Brit Lanchana Green in the quarterfinals if TUF 23 by unanimous decision.
Tyrell (3-0) had back to back second round finishes as a pro before defeating Mellony Geugjes for the vacant title this past month.
The fight will main event the card and will stream on the BCMMA website.
Combate Americas will be holding an open tryout August 13th at noon at the Fight Academy Pasadena at 1830 Locust Street Pasadena, CA. They are looking for female fighters 105 to 145 weight classes.
UFC star Julianna Peña will be one of the judges.

Bellator MMA announced two upcoming bouts for its cards. Both are expected to air on Spike TV.
August 26 – Hometown fighter Jaimelene Nievera (4-1) will look for her 3rd straight win taking on veteran fighter Lena Ovchynnikova at Bellator 160 in Anaheim, California. Nievera is coming off a third round TKO over Stephanie Frausto and has a win over Jillian Lybarger. She has finished in all of her wins. Ovchynnikova (11-4) is coming off a split decision win over Mara Romero Borella. She had lost her Bellator debut to Rebecca Ruth.
September 16th – In a battle of undefeated fighters, Anastasia Yankova (3-0) faces Veta Arteaga (2-0) at Bellator 161 in Cedar Park, Texas. Yankova made her Bellator debut in italy, defeating Anjela Pink by armbar. She has submitted in all three of her victories. Arteaga is also coming ff a debut win, this time over Jackie Vandenburgh.
Reminder the Olympics starts this week. Judo is the first female hand to hand combat sport to be contested as action starts Saturday. We will have complete coverage here.
