After a year of traveling, Invicta announced they will once again stay in Kansas City for their next card. The promotion announced its 19th offering for September 23 at the Scottish Rite Temple.
The main event will see interim InvictaFC flyweight champion Jennifer Maia face number one contender Roxanne Modafferi for the title. Maia (13-4-1) won the interim belt with a unanimous decision over Vanessa Porto this past March in Las Vegas. Modafferi (19-12) has won back to back fights since losing to Porto, including a split decision win over Deanna Bennett.
In the co-main event atomweight champion Ayaka Hamsaki will defend her title for the second time as she faces Jihn Yu Frey. Former Deep-Jewels champ Hamasaki (13-1) is undefeated since making the move to atomweight, defeating Hérica Tibúrcio for the title in July of last year. She defeated Amber Brown in her first title defense this past March.
Frey (5-1) recovered from her first loss to win three straight, including a unanimous decsion win over the former champ Tibúrcio this past March.
More matches are expected to be announced over the coming week. It is expected Irene Aldana, Claudia Rey, and Talia Santos will be on the card.
