InvictaFC 19 Adds Van Soest; Aldana vs. Van Duin; Plus 4 More Bouts

InvictaFC announced Friday six more bouts will be added to the two title matches for its upcoming 19th outing in Kansas City, Missouri September 23rd.

The featured contest will see former featherweight title challenger Faith Van Duin against former bantamweight title challenger Irene Aldana. Van Duin (6-2) is coming off a title loss to featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino in her last Invicta outing, but has since dropped to bantamweight, defeating Charlene Watt this past June in her home country of New Zealand.

Aldana was supposed to fight on the previous Invicta card, but her opponent Taila Santos was unable to get into the country. The Mexican stand out recovered from her loss to champion Tonya Evinger by defeating Jessamyn Duke  at InvictaFC 16.

Muay Thai world champion Tiffany VanSoest will make her promotional debut on the card against a yet to be named opponent at strawweight. Splitting her time between Bali MMA and Steel MMA, VanSoest won her opening round Glory Kickboxing match in May. The “Timebomb” is 0-1 in MMA with one amateur win with both being in China in 2011.

Two new countries will debut representatives on the InvictaFC 19 card.

Top India prospect Manjit Kolekar (8-0) looks to prove herself as she takes on Brazil’s Kaline Medeiros (7-4). Kolecar is the first ever winner of the Super Fight League women’s tournament and has had half of her wins by stoppage. She will be making her US debut.

Medeiros is on a four fight win streak and looked impressive in her InvictaFC debut this past May, defeating Alline Serio on short notice.

The other country making its InvictaFC debut is Iceland with Sunna Davidsdottir. The winner of the IMMAF European Open last year, she finished in two of the three matches in the tournament. This will be her professional debut.

Standing in her way is Ashley Greenway, who won her debut with promotion this past March. Greenway was a multi-time amateur champion.

Undefeated atomweight contender Julia Jones (4-0) will make her promotional debut against Stephanie Skinner (4-5). Jones has faced some of the top prospects at 105 and has came victorious including a win over Paulina Granados.

Skinner has won back to back fights since her loss to current InvictaFC champion Angela Hill in 2014.

In a battle of emerging featherweights, Amber Leibrock looks to recover from her loss to Megan Anderson against undefeated Amy Coleman. Leibrick won the Tuff-n-uff featherweight tournament to win a spot in Invicta, and defeated Marina Shafir last year in 37 seconds in her promotional debut.

Cole is making her InvictaFC debut having won back to back fights as a pro. Her most recent fight was a win over Annie DeCrescente this past May.

This brings a total of 8 fights, which includes the Interim Flyweight Title bout between champion Jennifer Maia and Roxanne Modafferi, and the Atomweight Title bout between champion Ayaka Hamasaki and Jinh Yu Frey.

The complete card will stream 0n UFC Fight Pass September 23rd.
