Former Srikeforce champ and InvictaFC vet Marloes Coenen (145.6) returns to action as she takes on Australian Arlene Blencowe (145.8). Coenen (22-6) has won 5 of her last seven fights, including a thrid round submission in her Bellator debut. Blencowe (6-4) has won four straight including a win over InvictaFC’s Faith Van Duin. She is also a world boxing champion.
Also at featherweight, Adrienna Jenkins (144.4) takes on Lissette Neri. Jenkins (18-6) recently came back after a five year absence from the sport. She is looking to come back after a loss to Blencowe.
Neri (6-2) is coming off a 38 second TKO win earlier this year. She was on a six fight win streak before losing back to back fights to Jessica Miele.
In the lone female flyweight bout, Arizona’s Maria Rios (125.4) takes on San Diego Combat Academy’s Ilima-Lei Macfarlane (125.2). Rios (2-2) won her first 2 pro fights and is looking rebound. Macfarlane is coming off a 10 second KO in her pro debut.

A third female bout has been added to Bellator’s 141st card August 28 in Temecula, California.
Knockout specialist Ilima-Lei Macfarlane will take on RFA vet Maria Rios in a flyweight battle. The match was announced Monday.
MacFarland (1-0) is coming off a KO win over Katie Castro in her pro debut. She went undefeated as an amateur and is teammates with the UFC’s Liz Carmouche and Invicta’s Christine Stanley at the San Diego Combat Academy.
Rios (2-2) is going back up to 125 after back to back losses at strawweight. She won her first two fights including a win over Ashley Yoder at RFA.
This is the second flyweight match under the Scott Coker era in Bellator, with flyweight Keri Ann Meledez signed to the promotion as well.
The match joins Marloes Coenen versus Arlene Blencowe and Adrienna Jenkins versus Lissette Neri on the card. The three matches will be a part of the preliminary card and will stream on Spike.com August 28.
Neri (6-2) started her career in 2013 and went on a 5-0 run before back to back losses to Jessica Miele. She would defeat Evalina Smith earlier this month to get back on the winning track.
Welcoming her to the Bellator cage is Jenkins (18-6), who is coming off a loss to Blencowe. Jenkins won he return to the cage after a five year absence earlier this year with a TKO over Kelsey Jorgenson.
The match will stream on the Spike.com prelim card.
Former WIBA welterweight boxing champ Arlene Blencowe (5-4 MMA) has announced Sunday night she is the newest edition to Bellator’s featherweight division.
The Australian standout has won three straight in MMA including a KO victory over InvictaFC fighter Faith van Duin. Blencowe will face Erin McGowan for the vacant WIBA lightweight boxing title November 21. She made her U.S. boxing debut in a split decision loss to Tori Nelson in September.
