Jedrzejczyk vs. Letourneau Title Match Added to UFC 193

Australia will be getting a second major women’s title match for the UFC’s stadium show in Melbourne, Australia.

Dana White confirmed Friday that Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend her strawweight title against Valerie Letourneau at UFC 193 on November 15th. The fight will serve as the co-main event to the bantamweight title fight between champion Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm.

Jedrzejczyk (10-0) would the title earlier this year and defeated Jessica Penne by TKO in her first title defense. The champ was sidelined due to a hand injury the past few months. It was expected the champ would face Claudia Gadleha in a rematch of their 2014 outing, but Gadleha is still sidelined with a hand injury of her own.

Letourneau (8-3) is undefeated in the UFC and is 2-0 at strawweight. She defeated Maryna Moroz last month, giving the Ukrainian her first ever loss.

The match will air on pay-per-view November 15th.

Jedrzejczyk versus Penne to Main Event UFC Germany Event

Due to Alexander Gustafsson being out of his match with Glover Teixeira as the main event of the UFC’s June 20th event in Berlin, Germany, a new main event is booked as Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend her newly won 115 title against former InvictaFC atomweight champ Jessica Penne. The news came out Friday.

Jedrzejczyk (9-0) TKOed Carla Esparza to win the belt on March. Much speculation was around who was going to be the champion’s next challenger as several has tossed their hat in the cage.

Former InvictaFC champ Penne (12-2) was set to face Juliana Lima at UFC Fight Night 67 in a few weeks, but got the call she has been waiting for. Her only two losses were to Zoila Frausto and newly signed UFC fighter Michelle Waterson. Since her loss to Waterson, she has won back to back fights, including a Fight of the Night performance against Randa Markos.

The fight will air on UFC Fight Pass June 20.

The Polish prospect will take on Brazilian Juliana Lima in what will be the second strawweight fight in the promotion at UFC on Fox 12 card in San Jose, CA July 26. MMA Rocks Poland broke the news Monday.

Undefeated Jedrzejczyk (6-0) got the KO over Sexton at Cage Warriors a few weeks ago. She has defeated some of the best talent in Europe. She had signed to Invicta earlier this year, but it looks like the UFC may have bought out her contract. This will be Jedrzejczyk’s debut at strawweight.

Lima (6-1) is coming off a win over Liliani Trolezi in Brazil last October before being signed to the UFC this past December. She was set to fight at TUF 20 but since she doesn’t speak English too well, they decided to sign her directly to the promotion. Her only loss was by decision to Katja Kankaanpaa in Invicta.

The fight is expected to air on the UFC on Fox prelims, which will air on Fox Sports 1 July 26.
