It didn’t take long for Marion Reneau to make an impression in the UFC.
After her one-sided win over Alexis Dufresne, Reneau will make a quick turnaround to face Jessica Andrade at UFC Fight Night in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil February 22.
Reneau (4-1) fought Dufresne this past weekend in what was a striking clinic. It was the first time Reneau won by a decision, having won the rest of her fights via finishes. The performance garnered her an apology from UFC President Dana White, who rejected her from being a participant in “The Ultimate Fighter 18”.
Reneau will have her toughest challenge to date in Andrade (12-3) who has won three straight. Her most recent win saw her submit Larissa Pacheco, handing the fellow Brazilian her first loss.
The fight will most likely take place on the preliminary card. It will either air on Fox Sports 1 or stream on UFC Fight Pass.
After her announcement several weeks ago, Marion Reneau finally has a date and opponent for her UFC debut.
Reneau will take on Alexis Dufresne at UFC 82 in Las Vegas, NV January 3rd.
Reneau (4-1) has finished three straight opponents in the first round and has yet to be finished. Dufresne (5-1) lost for the first time in her UFC debut against Sarah Moras. She has finished in all her wins.
The match will kick off the card on UFC Fight Pass.
Lauren Barefoot has suffered a neck injury in training and will be out of her fight with Maureen Riordon at RFA 16 in Denver July 25th. Marion Reneau will step into Barefoot’s place.
Reneau (3-1) has finished all of her wins including a KO in her last fight. Riordon (3-2 ammy) has been fighting for the past four years, but things started to gear up this year as she is staying very active. After this match with Barefoot, she will be a part of an all female boxing card in September.
