The demand for strawweights have been growing, and with several names not a part of the UFC and Invicta, several names stands out.
One of the top athletes on that list is former XFC champion Pearl Gonzalez. The 6-1 fighter has been recovering from injury and is about ready to return to action in the next few months. Teammates with UFC fighter Liz Carmouche and Bellator’s Ilima Lei MacFarlane, she is looking to join her teammates in the more prominent promotions.
We caught up with Gonzalez at Team Hurricane Awesome’s gym in San Diego to talk about her beginnings, her preps, and her bright future.
