In what has become a talent filled division over multiple organizations, one strawweight got the edge over the rest. UFC title contender Joanna Jedrzejczyk takes the WMMA Press Award “Strawweight of the Year” for 2014.
The Polish fighter went 4-0 this year, and 2-0 as a strawweight. Both of her strawweight wins were against tough Brazilians. Her biggest win was over Cláudia Gadelha in December to gain her the title shot against champion Carla Espzara in March. She was also nominated for KO of the Year with her win over Rosie Sexton.
